About me:
I’m Katherine Goldstein, an award-winning journalist and a fellow at The Better Life Lab at New America. My work has appeared in the NYT, WashPost, Vox, TIME, and more. I live in Durham, NC, and am the mom of three, including pandemic twins.
I’m working on my first book, Neighboring: A Deep Casual Guide to Building Community You Can Count On. It will be published by Portfolio, an imprint of Penguin Random House, on April 6th, 2027.
I define Neighboring as a verb. It’s any simple action that contributes to the people around you. It is THE defining activity of how we will survive and thrive in the 21st century. My work is all about taking immediate action that anyone and everyone can take to start building the connections that will lead to communities they can count on.
