Important Reminders for Your Child’s Upcoming Week at Camp LadyGulch!
Please read carefully so your kid can have the BEST SUMMER EVER!
Hello families!
It’s LadyGulch’s Camp Director here. First, I want to congratulate you on your excellent use of calendar reminders, your lightning-fast wifi, and your ability to rearrange your work schedule to get a slot in our camp within the first two minutes of registration opening back in January! We appreciate your prompt deposit equal to your rent or mortgage payment to secure your spot. Your remaining balance is 49% of the median monthly salary of Westchester County. We are so pleased that this year we are making camp more financially accessible. We are now offering a $5 discount per week for each additional sibling. Your kid is going to have the BEST SUMMER EVER!!!
It’s Sunday night before the start of camp, and I want to be sure you read through this entire document CAREFULLY as it contains VERY important information.
What to bring to camp every day:
Sunscreen (SPF 50 or higher)
Bug Spray (non-DEET only)
Lunch
Three snacks
Two full water bottles (Resuable only. Sustainability is one of our core values!)
A bathing suit
A sun shirt
An entire change of clothes
Two gallons of kinetic sand
Organic rat poison
Two towels
A Book to read during quiet time
Roll-on body glitter stick
127 safety pins
A comfort item like a stuffed animal
A chew toy from your pet, preferably used
A family wedding album, original preferred
14 unique examples of flora from your yard or a nearby park, individually bagged and labeled with their Latin names
Locks of hair from every member of your household
Please make sure EVERY SINGLE ITEM is labeled with your camper’s full name and a phone number on it, along with a brief physical description of your camper. PLEASE make sure all of these items fit into ONE backpack. We charge a $10 fee per item for locating lost items.
PLEASE NOTE: We will call you if we discover any of these items are missing during the day. Please arrive within 15 minutes of our call, otherwise it will disturb our carefully planned day.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER:
All food must be nut-free.
On Fridays, we are making Challah in a Kosher kitchen, so all of your child’s food must follow Kosher law on Fridays. We’ve attached a simple, three-page “cheat sheet” for your reference given that none of our camper families keep Kosher.
In addition to the three personal snacks you are sending for your camper, we’d like families to each bring community snacks one day per week. Please refer to the attached chart to decode what your assigned day is to bring the community snack by adding together your oldest enrolled child’s birthday plus the last 4 digits of their Social Security number.
This Tuesday is book character day! Please support all children’s love of reading by sending your kid to camp dressed as their favorite book character. (All items labeled please!) We didn’t want to spring this costume on you at the last minute, which is why we are letting you know tonight, Sunday. That way you can take the day off from work tomorrow to gather a homemade book character costume just in time for Tuesday.
Screen Policy: If there is a 50% chance of rain or higher, please send your camper with a personal electronic device for screen time during camp. If there is a 49% chance of rain or less, DO NOT send a device as this is distracting. Please refer only to approved weather sites, list attached. If the weather changes, we will call you to bring the device or pick up the device. Please arrive within 15 minutes of our call, otherwise it will disturb our carefully planned day.
Some parents last year were unhappy with our screen policy. We’re taking this feedback very seriously. Our response is, feel free to withdraw your kid from camp if you don’t like it, there are 600 others on the waitlist! Your deposit is non-refundable.
Your camper is in the Purple Panther group. Please refer to the attached map as the specific drop-off location for the Purple Panthers changes daily.
We’ve heard last year’s feedback from our beloved working parent community, so we hope you enjoy these new and improved “flexible” drop-off and pickup policies!
Drop off: Please drop your camper off between 8:55 and 9:02. Any camper dropped off before 8:55 will need to sign up for before-care at least 6 days in advance. It’s $25 per day. Please do not arrive after 9:02 as it disturbs our carefully planned day.
Pickup: Camp ends at 3:10pm. This is an improvement from last year’s time of 3:05 at no additional cost! Feel free to enter the carline as early as 2:30, but not before 2:29. If you want extended care until 5pm, It’s $45 per day and you must sign up 8 days in advance. If you aren’t in the carline by 2:35pm, you will automatically be charged $55, the $45 aftercare fee plus a $10 penalty for not signing up in advance.
Thanks so much for choosing Camp LadyGulch. And please remember, if you’ve signed up for multiple weeks, please read every week’s email carefully as all details change every week.
We’re so happy to have your camper with us so we can ALL have a fun and RELAXING summer!!!!
😂😂😭😭😭 what got you, was it the organic rat poison?
