A Project 2025....For Good
A soft launch announcement of the How to Find Your People Club
As I start gearing up to think about my professional life in 2025, I’m absurdly grateful that I get to spend next year researching and writing a book called How to Find Your People: A Guide to the Transformative Power of Community. We can’t make meaningful changes in our society until we get out of our isolated bubbles and personal responsibility crises and connect IRL with each other. I’m going to teach people very concretely how to do just that. This work feels like a timely and sacred gift. However, the book is not coming out until 2027. That feels too damn far away when I feel like there’s so much community-building work to do right now.
That’s why I’m launching The How to Find Your People Club, an IRL community-building project for the 21st century. We’ll get started early next year.
I’m creating a year-long interactive curriculum to share what I’m learning from writing my book, hear your stories, and try out some research-backed IRL community-finding and building tactics TOGETHER. You’ll get years-early access to some of the groundbreaking ideas and tools I’ll cover in the book, and your stories and experiences will inform my reporting.
For many years, America has been in a worsening loneliness crisis. Since Trump’s re-election, I’ve seen so many smart people declare our most significant priority should be to invest in local communities and in-person relationships. I couldn’t agree more. But if it were simple and effortless, we would have all done it a long time ago. (I’ll be talking a lot about WHY this is so hard at this moment in history, and no, it’s not your fault if you feel isolated.) So, if you aren’t sure how to find and connect with fulfilling communities in an ongoing way, you aren’t alone. And I’m here to help.
In addition to 1-2 public newsletters per month, club members can expect:
Self-reflective community-building prompts, quizzes, and games (I’m amped about the games!!)
Dedicated threads and chats
Monthly virtual hangouts
An optional Find-a-Friend IRL matching program
While I expect we’ll learn from each other and some warm bonds will form among club members, the point isn’t to create another online-only group that keeps experiences insular and virtual. The club aims to teach and empower you to find and invest in communities IRL wherever you are. This is going to be fun. This is going to be experimental. You’ll have the opportunity to learn a lot and challenge yourself. You will also be an early part of a movement to reconnect our disconnected nation. I hope you’ll join me.
If you are already a Double Shift member, you are already in the club!
If you’d like to gift a club membership to someone in your life who might be ready to find their people, you can do so, which will last until Jan 1, 2026.
This is just the soft launch announcement, I’ll share plenty more details about the club in the new year.
When deciding if this is something you’d be interested in, know that the club is for anyone ready to find their people. It’s for parents and non-parents, women, men, non-binary people, young people, elders, middle-aged folk, and people of all backgrounds. The lessons should resonate with a broad group, and I want to hear the experiences of a broad group of folks, too.
Alright, y’all. Now, you’ll get a little break from my regular cadence weekly newsletters in your inbox for the month of December. I’ve decided to prioritize deep thinking, strategic planning, and uninterrupted time as I dream big about what you’ll see in this space in 2025.
See ya in the new year. 🍾
PS Reminder! Join me TOMORROW Dec 5th at 12 pm EST on LinkedIn Live unpaid labor and the mental load around the holidays, hosted by the women’s news site, The Persistent!

I am so in!!! Thank you Katherine!!
So if we join the club now would we also need to subscribe to the Double Shift, or is it all the same thing?
